— Case Study 05
Concert Poster Design
— Overview
Many concert posters only focus on showing the artist clearly, but they do not communicate the feeling of the music. I wanted to create a poster that visually feels like Solene's music experience — dreamy, emotional, glowing, and floating.
The poster should feel like music visually, not just advertise a concert.
— Project Overview
This project is a fictional gig poster for an artist named Solene. The design is based on how I feel while listening to her music. I focused heavily on imagery, color, lighting, and atmosphere to create a dreamy and emotional mood.
— Research & Insight
I listened to music with soft electronic and dreamy sounds while studying concert poster designs and fashion photography. I noticed glowing colors, blur effects, and soft movement create an emotional atmosphere.
My insight: the poster should feel like music visually, not just advertise a concert.
— Brand Character
Three traits guided every design decision — from color choices to typography to how the image was treated.
— Process
Every element was chosen to reinforce the emotional identity of the artist.
— Moodboards
Three moodboards mapped out the world of this project — the artist's existing aesthetic, the emotional feeling of the music, and the graphic design direction.
— Solution
The final poster combines imagery, typography, and atmosphere to create a strong emotional identity for the artist. Instead of only promoting a concert, the design communicates the feeling of Solene's music through color, glow, and mood.
The hand-drawn signature headline, neon color palette, and chromatic aberration effects come together to make something that feels less like a flyer and more like an invitation into a world.
