— Case Study 05
Motion Design & Animation
— Overview
I wanted to create a short animation that clearly introduces Boom's character and brand story in only 1 minute while still feeling fun to watch, creative, and visually engaging.
Rough hand-drawn animation feels more personal and matches the identity of Boom better than clean digital animation.
— About The Project
This project is a hand-drawn motion design video about Boom — a cartoon character that also represents my clothing brand. Boom is a hand-painted clothing brand focused on illustration, creativity, and self-expression.
The video follows Boom's journey using a paper cut-style animation and hand-drawn movement. I studied paper cut animation and hand-drawn motion graphics to understand how simple movement and shapes can make a story feel more alive and emotional.
— Brand Character
Three traits guided every animation and design decision.
— Visual Research & Process
Before animating, every scene was mapped out through storyboard sketches. The moodboard captured the raw, hand-made energy Boom needed to feel authentic.

The final motion video introduces Boom's identity through storytelling, hand-drawn animation, and motion. The project combines illustration, branding, and animation to create a short but memorable experience that feels artistic, personal, and fun.
